We're Moving!

Justin's mother is a real estate agent and had a house on the market that she thought would be perfect for us. She called us and said that we had to see this house. It had a huge RV concrete pad with hookups and was large enough to park our truck and horse trailer, huge space on the other side of the house for our dog run, a pretty big shop that even had an office in it, and was still close enough to take care of our horses when we get them. ( they are in the process of buying a pony for Hailey and as soon as we move Justin is buying his horse) It is even in the school district we wanted. It is 4 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths with an office downstairs. They guy is a wood worker so in the shop and the office there are floor to ceiling shelves and and a built in desk in both the house office and the shop office. Anyway, we went to look at it and fell in love with it. We put in a contingent offer hoping that our house would sell in time. The people that owned the house were ecstatic that Linda's son was buying it. Well we put the house up for sale on the Fri before Christmas and on Tuesday we had the first people come and look at it. They ended up making an offer for full price! We are so excited. God has been so good to us this year!

It poured rain all weekend. We have been so busy getting ready for the baby that I don't know which way is even up anymore. I am still working I am hoping to make it until Nov 12th but we'll see how that works out. My back has been killing me so bad that at night I come home from work and it is all I can do to make it to the heating pad. I have started my so called "nesting" phase which is typically a good thing however, I am afraid mine is a destructive one. While washing my floors I discovered a piece of carpet that was not nailed down, upon further examination and to my delight I discovered that under our carpet were beautiful real hardwood floors. So, my darling husband tour out the carpet for me! Well, even though they are in excellent condition we now have to refinish them so they will not get ruined. While he was ripping out the carpet I had the brilliant idea to tear the trim up in the whole house. Since we were going to refinish the hardwoods we would have to tear up some of the trim and we had been talking about redoing it all before we sell anyway. So then we get a phone call from Justin's uncle saying that his wood stove had cracked and that was their only source of heat. We have a huge brick fireplace mantel in our living room and on it sits a huge old wood stove in perfect condition that we have never used. Partly because our house is not up to code to have a stove that huge and also because it would probably heat us out of house and home. Well, sure enough Justin's uncle wanted to know if we would sell it to him. The selfish side of me was shaking my head at Justin while he was on the phone. What would I do with a huge empty brick mantle in the middle of my living room. We had not budgeted to buy a new gas stove right now to replace it and with the baby coming it is hardly a project I want to dip into our funds for. Anyway, so here I sit with no trim in my house, no carpet on my floors, and one HUGE empty brick mantle in the middle of my living room. HELP

So it is summer time and things are so hectic. 2 weekends ago we decided to start the daunting task of making our house compatible for 4 people. We gave Hailey a totally new room and re did the whole thing in horses with an adorable horse border (will post pics soon). She absolutely loves it, but now unfortunately we are without a play room. Might not be such a bad thing though considering it makes her keep her toys picked up. Anyway, now the baby will get Haileys old room that is all done in tinker bell. Have not had a chance to get that room set up yet though.
Then, for the 4th of July we went to the Molalla Buckaroo rodeo with Justin's parents. We had so much fun. We bought Hailey and adorable pink cowgirl hat that she wore the whole time. She thought it was pretty cool that everyone there knew daddy and grandpa. Mommy was even a little impressed. Justin's father is a champion bull rider and it seems like Justin had roped with half of the guys in the rodeo before. After that we went to some friend's of my parent's and had a BBQ. It was at that time my darling husband decided he would jump in the wading pool that had 3 feet of water in it and do a trick to impress all the kiddos. Well, he ended up hitting is shoulder on the bottom of the pool and dislocating it. It was already pretty sore from throwing hay all weekend and that was the final straw. Off we went to the emergency room where we sat until 2am. Then next day at work I had a huge presentation to make to the owners of my company and I hardly thought I was going to make it through.
In between all of this we sold our 4runner and bought an 86 extended cab 1 ton dually truck. It is in such excellent condition that we couldn't pass it up. Justin is like a little boy on the first day of school. I am really glad he was able to get it. He deserves it! We also had a wedding to attend that both Justin and I were in the same weekend all of my family was in town for a funeral. Now we are preparing to go to the lake house this weekend with my parents. We both have Friday off and I am looking forward to doing nothing but eating at Moes and reading my book.
If anyone needs me starting Friday I am unavailable and my cell will be turned off until Mon morning.

The last few weekends have been so much fun. We had a garage sale a few weeks ago that actually ended up being quite successful for being thrown together at last minute. Justin has been teaching Hailey how to rope so that has been really fun to watch as well. Anyway, Enjoy the pics!

Nothing Special

Well, nothing exciting going on around here. We find out next Friday if our little baby is a boy or a girl. I am so excited! Justin's parents just bought a farm about 1 mile down the road from us. It has an in ground pool with a water slide and is an absolutely beautiful home with enough land for us to board a couple of horses there. So, we are very excited.

Justin is officially graduated and a journeyman. I am so proud of him. It will be so nice to have him home every night instead of him having to go to school directly after work and get home around 10pm. Hailey and I are very happy about that.

This Sat. there are about 60 garage sales going on in a really nice neighborhood close to us. I am hoping to cash in on some baby stuff. Other than that, just life as usual.

In continuing with today's blog discussion...

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

We had a BBQ on Sun. and I was speaking with one of Justin's friends girlfriends and another girl who is a good friend of mine. Justin's friends girlfriend who we will call Susan, was talking about a friend of ours who is struggling with her marriage because her and her husband are constantly fighting about who will clean the house, cook dinner, make lunches, ect... both of them work so this friend thinks that all the responsibilities of the home are equal however, her husband does not. Susan was saying how her mom always made lunch for her dad, kept the house clean, and had dinner on the table when he got home and how she never wanted to be that kind of woman. That her and her boyfriend are equal and how she thought this other friend of hers should just leave her husband because he obviously did not think of them as an equal team. She looked at me and said "what would you do if Justin treated you like that" I said "Susan, I cannot imagine not wanting to do those things for my family and husband. Unfortunately, I do not always do them but I make an effort and I certainly hope that I can be that kind of wife and mother someday. I can't imagine having the mind set of not wanting to do those things for my husband because I work too and he can do it himself." I should have stopped right there but unfortunately the Swartzendruber in me took over and I continued to say "maybe that is why ??? is on the verge of divorce and why you are not married yet." Well, that was pretty much the end of my night. My poor friend Joy who is getting married in 3 weeks just sat there listening in horror however, I did hear her chuckle even though she will deny it. As much as I hate to admit it. I am glad for how my mother raised me and thankful Justin's mother raised him the same way, expecting those things but also grateful. I look forward to the day when I can stay at home and caring for my family will be my full time job. Until then my resolve is even greater to have dinner on the table, make my husband's lunch, and keep the house kept up... because that is my most important job.

Cartilage and Peaches

Well, Went to the Dr. on Tue after I was walking down the hall at work and got stuck. I was not able to move due to the fact that I was in so much pain. Come to find out this weird bone pain I have been having is because I am missing the piece of cartilage you are apparently suppose to have between your two pelvic bones. Therefore, every time I take a step those bones are just grinding against each other. I am just thankful that the baby is doing good. I realize it could be a lot worse however, right now on bed rest at 3 1/2 months pregnant, life is not looking it's brightest. The Dr. is going to see me on a week by week basis to determine if I can work that week or not.

Anyway, enough complaining. It has been sunny and beautiful the past few weeks. So, it being almost June, my pregnant body was craving a fresh peach. Not just any peach, the kind of peach fresh from the farm that I only got as a kid when I stole one from the box that mom was canning from. Well, apparently in my 8 yr old mind I did not record the date of the time that the peach was stolen. Therefore, totally horrifying my mother this morning when I called her to ask her where a pregnant women could find a farm that sold a fresh peach. Had I known the laughter, followed by horror, followed by the public humiliation that was to come, I would have driven to the store and bought peaches in a can. OH, but do not worry the story is not over. While mother was upstairs, in between yelling at Anna Lise for breaking her computer and typing away frantically, oldest daughter stopped by for a visit and upon her departure made a stop by mother's pantry, quietly snatching the last 2 jars of homemade canned peaches from last year. BWAAAABWAAAA

Well, I must be going. I have 2 loads of laundry to fold and a whole bowl of peaches to eat!

Oh the pain

So I don't mean to complain but I just don't know what to do right now. I am in so much pain I don't know what to do. My cervix is hurting so bad that I cannot even walk. It has been hurting for the past month but today I was on my way into the restaurant of the hotel I work at and I literally almost passed out from the pain.It feels like the bones are grinding together. I called my Dr. and unfortunately she said that at this point there is nothing that can be done for it. I don't know how I am going to make it through this pregnancy. I am so excited for this baby I just want it to be 5 months from now. I had this pain with Hailey but not until I was around 7 months along. I sure hope that I can get this problem figured out. Everyone just seems dumbfounded about what it could be. I am so glad I am paying mega bucks for you to tell me that you aren't sure what is wrong with me. Anyway, sorry for venting and if anyone knows what I am talking about and doesn't think I am crazy, I would love to hear from you.

I am such a slacker

WOW! I haven't posted anything for a while. I guess it doesn't matter much since nobody reads my blog anyways. Well, I am with my dear aunt Val on this day. I just don't feel like doing anything. It is overcast and looks like it could start pouring rain any second. All I want to do is go home. Tonight is Hailey's first School singing program. I am so excited!!! Justin and I have agreed to sign her up for equestrian lessons. She will start learning English style riding and when she turns 5 she will join the Young Jumpers team which is competitive horse jumping. This will be a lot of fun for the whole family. Maybe hubby will finally get his horse too. Nothing like a cowboy without a horse...kinda sad really! In the near future we will be in the market for a quarter horse, truck, and horse trailer...I wonder if they have packages deals for things like that. like "buy a truck and trailer we'll throw in the horse" HMMMM probably not:) Anyway, I have a feeling my dreams for a big new house wont be coming true for a while, considering we will have the extra expenses of horse boarding and private lessons. oh well, I want Justin to be able to have his dream too so I will wait patiently for the time to come when we can afford to buy land with a new house already on it. Should have moved to Wyoming:) lol

Anyway, Justin has his big turn out test on Monday. His five years of schooling comes down to this test and I think I am more nervous than he is. It is actualy a series of 4 tests but the biggest one is on Monday. Pray that he does well.

Well I should prbably get back to work. I will post pictures of Haileys program soon. Right now I can only post at work due to the fact that the 2 masterminds I like to call my father and my husband, CRASHED my computer.

Happy Birthday Honey!

So my wonderful husband turns 28 today. We actually celebrated his birthday yesterday with his family since we were already there for Easter. Today is his actual birthday but he has school tonight so we probably wont get to do much until tomorrow.

We had a wonderful Easter. We had breakfast at my mothers which was a traditional polish breakfast which consisted of hard boiled eggs and horderadish sauce. My pregnant stomach wasn't having much of any of it. Then we spent Easter evening with Justin's parents and had dinner with them. Overall, it was a wonderful day spent with family. Hailey was asking a lot of questions about Jesus and Easter and poor mom explained it as best as she could but after I was done she said " Mom, I'm strong, I could push the rock away"...oh my, I couldn't help but laugh.

Anyway, I better get going I have lots of work to get done and I don't feel well enough to do any of it...UGHHH only 7 more months:)

I Think I Can..I Think I Can...

Ithink I can make it through the day without either throwing up or falling asleep at my desk. I am so exhausted. However, instead of boring you with my complaining, I will leave you with a few pictures and the nice gesture my husband did for me. Justin had called me to see how I was feeling for like the 5th time yesterday, bless his heart. Anyway, I was having a particularly rough day and he went out and bought me a box of moonstruck favorite. Anyway, I thought it was really sweet considering what a pain I have been lately.

Hormone City

I do not remember being this irritable with Hailey. I think I have pretty much gotten upset with every friend I have this week. We are trying to get our house ready to sell and that is stressing me out on top everything else. Justin seems to think that everything must be perfect before we put it on the market. I just want it sold so that we can move and get settled before the baby gets here. We are still going to Wyoming next month to check out the property we are interested in but I think for now we are going to stay put for a while in Oregon. The baby put a whole new spin on things and now I am afraid that I cannot leave my family because I am just way too big of a baby. We didn't really do much of anything this weekend. Justin painted both of the bathrooms in his "house renovation" frenzy. We have now painted our main bathroom 4 times and each time the colors we choose get worse and worse. Nothing matches are counter tops and floor. They are this weird blue grey color and nothing goes with it. I am now leaving it the hideous shade of blue that Justin painted it and will let the next people who buy the house fix it. Of course I told him I thought it was beautiful and that he didn't need to repaint it again before we put the house on the market. It has been a long day at work and all I want to do is go home and spend time with my family.

Morning Sickness

UUUGGGHHH I forgot about the nausea. I will do my best to refrain from complaining due to the fact that I am so grateful to be having a baby. We have a big 4wheeling trip planned the end of May and now it looks like I will be spending most of my time at the campsite cooking. Oh well, it will still be fun right??? We have had the best weather the past few days I almost forgot that it was still spring until it started pouring down rain today.

Hailey was so cute. yesterday in the car she started singing a song clear as day in Spanish. I couldn't believe my ears. When I asked her where she learned the song she said that she had learned it at school. I was quite impressed and proud of my grown up baby. Every time I call her my baby she says "mom, I'm not your baby, My name is Hailey"...well excuse me.

Life Is Changing

Well, we found out yesterday that we are pregnant!!!! We are very excited and Hailey can't wait to have a new brother or sister. We are also in the process of moving from our cute home here in portland to the Cowboy state of Wyoming. Justin and I both will have work there due to the kind of work that we both do. We have found 40 acres in Cheyenne for a very good price and Lord willing we will be building a new house on the property and moving around August or September. Just to clarify, yes we do know how windy Cheyenne is, yes we do know how far away it is, and yes we will miss everyone. We will be leaving the 19th of next month to fly out and look at the property. Pray for us in this exciting and scary time of change.

Long Time No Blog

Wow, I haven't posted in a really long time.I have been so busy with life that I have hardly had time to sit down at all. Last weekend we went to the coast for two days. We rented a beach house and had a blast. We went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, and played on the beach all day. I ended up getting the flu on Sunday. Trust me driving home from the beach on those windy roads with the flu was AWFULL. I have not been that sick in a long time.

Hailey has her Valentine's Day party today. She was so cute today taking all of her treats to school with her. I thought I was being a really cool mom. I bought little candy boxes for everyone in her class, I bought a cute valentine's day shirt for her to wear, I stayed up until midnight filling out little valentine's for everyone in her class, and even bought cute heart napkins and a heart bag to carry it all in. We get to school today and clearly I had not done enough. Kids had homemade valentine's, masses of candy and treats, one kid was even passing out 5x7 pictures of himself attached to homeade cards. I mean who has the time and money. Oh my, I guess my little $3.00 cards will have to do. Sometime's I don't think I do enough but then there are times like yesterday when I got her card to Justin and I when I think she may have way too much. Her teacher asked all the kids why they love their mommys and daddys and then wrote it down in a cute card with their handprints on the front. Hailey's card read "I love mommy and daddy because they buy me presents and I'm a princess" Oh dear, I'm in for trouble.

So who has Valentine's Day plans? Justin has school tonight and wont even get home until 10pm so nothing too romantic in the Davis household. My friend Joy and I always plan a Valentine's dinner together for our men. We are doing that on Friday but other than that no big plans. I wont even have a full 2 days off this weekend because on Saturday I am sponsoring a table at the Hilton wedding show for work...UGGGH

Anyway, We went 4wheeling up in Molalla a few weeks ago. I will post pictures of that and the beach soon..I promise.

Have a great Valentine's Day!

Well, Justin and I have been trying to have a baby now for 3 months. I know that is not very long but patience has never been one of my virtues. I am really hoping and praying that it will happen soon. Hailey is 3 now and I think it would be really good for her to have a sibling. Just a quick side note...Hailey is LOVING her new school. I guess I was worried for nothing she has already made a whole new bunch of friends and her teachers and I are so excited at how well she has made the adjustment. So anyway, I am excited for this new chapter of our life to start. Actually alot of things are exciting at the Davis household. Hailey's adoption was finalized this month..YEAH! It is so comforting to know that legally it has all been taken care of. She is now legally Hailey Davis. Also, as most of you know Justin is in a 5 year apprenticeship program. That means 5 years of school on top of the 2 year degree he already has which makes a total of 7 years of school. Well, Monday he starts his last term. I am so proud of him. He works so hard, and on top of that twice a week he gets up at 4am for work and doesn't get home until 10pm after he is done with school. It will be so nice to have him around every night. He graduates in May. I love that man sooo much. So I have no complaints at the moment. God has blessed my life more than I could have ever imagined. I am so thankful for my family (husband and That bring me so much joy every ya mom!

I love Mondays, I love Mondays, I love Mondays

OK, So maybe I don't love Mondays but I figure if I tell myself that enough that maybe I will start believing it. My little baby started her first day of preschool today. I was so sad and she didn't even cry. She just waved her little hand and said BYE mom. She wasn't upset at all. She could have cried a school is going to be so good for her. It is a private Christian school and is all day care with preschool and kindergarten built in. It comes highly recomended and has a waiting list a mile long. They barely were able to get Hailey in but because of her age they were able to make it work. I hope she has fun:) I hope she is a good little girl:) I hope she goes to sleep at naptime:) I hope she doesn't have any accidents:) Oh my, I think I am going to drive myself crazy. I only dropped her off an hour ago. Do you think it would be too phsyco mom of me to call and check on her?

Family Pics

Justin's dad was a champion bull rider. For Christmas we got some of these pictures blown up and framed. It was our favorite gift. Justin's father never let them bull ride that's how they both got into roping. I feel so bad for him because that is such a passion of his and right now we just don't have the property for it. He does still get to rope in the occasional jackpot, but it will be so nice when he can have it all right at his fingertips!

P.S. Justin is the older little boy:)
